At times I have bursts of ideas and drive to be more environmentally conscious. So to do something small we decided to get some bags that could be brought to grocery stores so that we don't have to get tons of plastic bags. It really is amazing to realize how many bags you accumulate over a month! Try and you will see! Fortunately you can recycle the bags, but why recycle when you can do away with plastic bags all together!
So today we got some great new cloth bags at Garden Ridge for only $1 (and I will come back to this low price later)! They have many many colors so you can get all flashy should you desire. So the funny part of this story comes at the checkout. Being the joker that I am, I was thinking of asking the clerk to bag up our bags for us. But she started to do it all on her own, so I held my tongue. And yes she was going to do it. I told her that we didn't need to bag our bags...
Unfortunately I found out from this clerk at Garden Ridge, that they try and schedule people's hours to be just below 7 hours so that they don't have to give them a lunch break... very dirty. I would have hoped that they wouldn't have to resort to Wal-Mart tactics, but I guess not. Maybe that's how they get those nice low prices... So just goes to show that you can't help everything all at once... Just have to take it one step at a time.
